Gordon Hayward, who currently plays for the Boston Celtics signed an endorsement deal with Chinese sportswear company Anta in 2018. Anta offered Hayward a four-year $9 million contract to endorse the brand and develop his own signature shoe line.
His first signature shoe, the Anta GH1 was released in December 2019. The first colorways use the Celtics team colors of green, gold, black, brown, and white. The shoe uses Anta’s A-shock foam and uses a “tiger paw” traction pattern. The traction pattern on the forefoot consists of three circular patterns while the mid to heel area’s pattern resembles tiger stripes. The shoe should be capable of handling indoor and outdoor use.
Hayward used PE versions of the KT 4 Lows for the first part of the 2019-2020 NBA regular-season, fans mistakenly thought those were his signature shoes but they were simply what he wore while he was going through the process of developing his own line. He also previously wore Nike shoes such as the Kobe 10 Lows and the Zoom Live 2017 as he was sponsored by Nike early in his career.
